Coordinate committee

Intergroups & Central Offices

Local service offices: meeting lists, phones and literature.

What this committee does

Intergroups and central offices are local A.A. service centers that answer phones, keep meeting directories, sell literature and coordinate Twelfth Step work. They are coordinate committees of the Area — autonomous, but part of the Area structure; their chairs or directors are voting members of the Assembly, and Area officers visit their meetings on a quarterly rotation. Central offices and general service are complementary, not competitive.

Its work in Area 09

  • Answer the phones — many offices 24 hours a day — and connect callers with A.A. members for Twelfth Step calls.
  • Publish local meeting directories and keep online meeting finders up to date.
  • Sell Conference-approved literature and support local A.A. events.
  • Hold a monthly intergroup meeting of group representatives (see the list on this page).

How to get involved

Ask your group about becoming its intergroup representative. Meeting places and Zoom details are on each intergroup’s website.

How it is organized

Each intergroup is autonomous. The Alternate Delegate is the Area’s liaison.

When we meet

Seven intergroups meet monthly. Pick the one nearest you — each listing has the place, time and how to join.
