Area sub-committee

Area Sound

So that everyone can hear — and hear in their own language.

What this committee does

The Area Sound servant and assistants make sure every member can hear all presentations and discussions at Area meetings. They run the Area’s broadcast, recording and interpretation equipment, working with the Area’s interpreters.

Its work in Area 09

  • Transport, set up, monitor and tear down the sound and interpretation equipment at every Assembly, ASC, Servathon, Heritage Day and FORO.
  • Record Area meetings for the Secretary and the Archives.
  • Keep the inventory (headsets, batteries, tools) and track loaned equipment.
  • Handle requests from districts and other entities to borrow the equipment (written request three months ahead; the Assembly approves).

How to get involved

Helpers are always welcome at Area meetings — talk to the Sound servant or the Area Chair.

How it is organized

The Area elects or appoints a Sound person and assistants (Area Sound Guidelines, passed January 2014).
